FRAMED IN MAINE, PART TWO

Sherwood Jordan lived on 200 acres in Albany, Maine. Sherwood told me that he had an associate named Robert Sanborn who was arrested in this bust. Here's a part of the newspaper article:
"Police arrested Robert Sanborn of Old Orchard Beachin 2007 and found 20 pounds of marijuana in his car. He became a key witness for the government." Mitzie Naples also wrote that although some of Sherwood's co-defendants cooperated with the government, Sherwood chose not to , refusing to provide any information he may have known involving anyone in illegal activity besides other pot smokers. Sherwood sat through his trial with his arms folded and his mouth shut and consequently the governement took everything Sherwood had - his land, the last good ten years of his life (plus 8 years of probation). He's 57 now.
Robert Sanborn borrowed $5000 from Sherwood allegedly to buy a house but Sandborn instead paid off his cocaine debt. Then Sanborn gave Sherwood $500 worth of pot as a partial repayment. That's how Sherwood became points reduction on Sanborn's sentence. The FBI had Sanborn call Sherwood over a two month period and set him up. Sanborn would drop off boxes of pot on Sherwood's land and call him and tell him "Hey, I dropped something off for you."
Sherwood's phone was tapped, and the FBI used 5 of the calls to come up with the charges - Facilitating a Felony drug conspiracy over a land based telephone. Sherwood had no idea that Sanborn was into the coke, and Sherwood was caught with nothing - no pot, no coke. No, it was simply the words of a desperate man who didn't want to spend his time behind bars.
Sherwood showed me a petition that Mitzie Naples has going, which I will share with you after I rant a bit myself.
Sherwood was raped by the United State government on the word of a convicted criminal. Sherwood is 57 years old and not in great health. He has to pay back four million dollars plus 250,000 for each of the five phone calls. If Sherwood lives through this, he will have served 120 months plus 8 years of probation to follow - basically, he got a life sentence. I'm going to break this up into another post coming up next.
